Weekday Group Rides typically occur Tuesday and Thursday Evenings and are posted on or before the Monday of the week they occur. Saturday Morning rides are typically posted the day before (Friday). Group Rides typically occur during Daylight Savings Time (Mid March - Early November). Other rides outside this time will be posted on occasion.

We’re excited to get back into the swing of things. Dust off the bike, air up the tires, and join us Tuesday evening for 29 miles of fun! We’re aiming to maintain around 18mph - not a walk in the park, but also not a TdF time trial!

Southern Velo Saturday Ride

*** A small group of Cleveland Riders will start from Black Fox Elementary at 8am and meet up with SV in Cohutta (Around 80 Miles Total) | The main SV ride starts in Cohutta at 9am ***
Looks like rain in the afternoon so let’s start at 9:00am to beat it. I will be leading this ride to enforce the pace. This ride is usually 19-20 mph so come out and enjoy the SOUTHERN VELO-ship. If you want to bring a guest that is fine too just make sure they are comfortable in group rides and can hold the average pace advertised. Our main goal is to ensure everyone stays together and if someone falls off the back, sweepers are encouraged to bring them back to the group. We will also wait at stop signs to regroup as well if needed.
The Garmin routes are posted below and the 40 is the same as the 50 mile route with the exception of a turn on Keith Valley at around mile 31 so download the route you plan to ride and use it to call out turns so everyone is on the same page.
I have also added a metric ride which will tack another 10 miles on the 52 miler so you can collect your metric badge, ya bunch of overachievers!
The parking area for this ride is between the Cohutta Mason Lodge and the Cohutta First Baptist Church parking lots we cannot park at the tennis court parking lot on Windwalker anymore.

The faster group will stick to the Lowe Loop route - around 35 miles. The more relaxed group will most likely stick to this route, but some might choose to cut it short. We’ll regroup if there’s any separation. Our goal is to not drop anyone so long as they can stay close to the advertised paces.

Tuesday Night Road Ride - A/B Combined Group (Click for Details)
We’re excited to get back into the swing of things. Dust off the bike, air up the tires, and join us Tuesday evening for 29 miles of fun! We’re aiming to maintain around 18mph - not a walk in the park, but also not a TdF time trial!
As long as you can maintain close to 18mph, we’ll all stay together - if you start falling off the back, let us know and we’ll cool the pace - we just won’t come to a crawl. It's going to be in the 60's on Saturday so let's ride at 9:00am! Jason & I will be leading a Just Right Ride - 40 miles 17-18 pace, so come out and enjoy the SOUTHERN VELO-ship. If you want to bring a guest that is fine too just make sure they are comfortable in group rides and can hold the average pace advertised.
Our main goal is to ensure everyone stays together and if someone falls off the back, sweepers are encouraged to bring them back to the group. We will also wait at stop signs to regroup as well if needed.

The parking area for this ride is between the Cohutta Mason Lodge and the Cohutta First Baptist Church parking lots we cannot park at the tennis court parking lot on Windwalker anymore.

It's going to be in the 60's again on Saturday so let's ride at 9:00am! I will not be leading this ride but Tom, Al and Tracy will enforce the pace. This ride is usually 19-20 mph so come out and enjoy the SOUTHERN VELO-ship. If you want to bring a guest that is fine too just make sure they are comfortable in group rides and can hold the average pace advertised. The Garmin routes are posted below and the 40 is the same as the 50 mile route with the exception of a turn on Keith Valley at around mile 31 so download the route you plan to ride and use it to call out turns so everyone is on the same page.
I have also added a metric ride which will tack another 10 miles on the 52 miler so you can collect your metric badge, ya bunch of overachievers!
