Weekday Group Rides typically occur Tuesday and Thursday Evenings and are posted on or before the Monday of the week they occur. Saturday Morning rides are typically posted the day before (Friday). Group Rides typically occur during Daylight Savings Time (Mid March - Early November). Other rides outside this time will be posted on occasion.
Thursday Night Road Ride - A/B Combined Group (Click for Details)
We’re excited to get back into the swing of things. Dust off the bike, air up the tires, and join us Thursday evening for 30-35 miles of fun!
We’ll start out as 1 group that will split into 2. The faster riders will average around 20mph +/-. The more relaxed group will average around 17-18mph.
Also, everyone will stop if there are any mechanicals - just be sure to call it out. We recommend being prepared with anything you might need to change a tube or any other mechanical situation you foresee happening.
Rolling at 6pm - please be ready to go by then!
The faster group will stick to the Lowe Loop route - around 35 miles. The more relaxed group will most likely stick to this route, but some might choose to cut it short. We’ll regroup if there’s any separation. Our goal is to not drop anyone so long as they can stay close to the advertised paces.
***Weather Dependent - We’ll try to cancel the ride at least an hour before the planned start time if the forecast looks unfavorable.

Scott’s Bikes Ice Cream Ride
Come out and have some fun! We are organizing a fun bike ride for all ages and speeds. We'll cruise around 8 miles down and back on the Cleveland Greenway and then treat ourselves to some delicious ice cream at Baskin Robbins! I hope to see you there!
Tuesday Night Road Ride - A/B Combined Group (Click for Details)
We’re excited to get back into the swing of things. Dust off the bike, air up the tires, and join us Tuesday evening for 29 miles of fun! We’re aiming to maintain around 18mph - not a walk in the park, but also not a TdF time trial!
As long as you can maintain close to 18mph, we’ll all stay together - if you start falling off the back, let us know and we’ll cool the pace - we just won’t come to a crawl. Also, everyone will stop if there are any mechanicals - just be sure to call it out. We recommend being prepared with anything you might need to change a tube or any other mechanical situation you foresee happening.
Rolling at 6pm - please be ready to go by then!
We’ll ride the GP - Meadowview Loop route. It’s around 29 miles with a few hills, but we’ll regroup if there’s any separation. Our goal is to not drop anyone so long as they can stay close to the advertised pace.
***Weather Dependent - We’ll try to cancel the ride at least an hour before the planned start time if the forecast looks unfavorable.

It's going to chilly on Saturday so let’s start at 10:30 am. I will not be leading this ride but Al and Tracy will also help enforce the pace. This ride is usually 19-20 mph so come out and enjoy the SOUTHERN VELO-ship. If you want to bring a guest that is fine too just make sure they are comfortable in group rides and can hold the average pace advertised. Our main goal is to ensure everyone stays together and if someone falls off the back, sweepers are encouraged to bring them back to the group. We will also wait at stop signs to regroup as well if needed.
The Garmin routes are posted below and the 40 is the same as the 50 mile route with the exception of a turn on Keith Valley at around mile 31 so download the route you plan to ride and use it to call out turns so everyone is on the same page.
I have also added a metric ride which will tack another 10 miles on the 52 miler so you can collect your metric badge, ya bunch of overachievers!
The parking area for this ride is between the Cohutta Mason Lodge and the Cohutta First Baptist Church parking lots we cannot park at the tennis court parking lot on Windwalker anymore.

Introductory/Beginner Group Ride. Pace 15 - 16 MPH, Dist 30 Miles. If you want to bring a guest that is fine too just make sure they are willing to get comfortable in group rides and can hold the average pace advertised. Our main goal is to ensure everyone stays together and if someone falls off the back, sweepers are encouraged to bring them back to the group. We will also wait at stop signs to regroup as well if needed.
The Garmin routes posted below is a 30 mile route. Download the route use it to call out turns so everyone is on the same page.
The parking area for this ride is between the Cohutta Mason Lodge and the Cohutta First Baptist Church parking lots we cannot park at the tennis court parking lot on Windwalker anymore.

Another cold day ride but no rain and if we delay it until 11:00 the feels like temperature will be in the low 50s so let’s ride! It will still be cold so dress appropriately. I will not be leading this ride but Tom or Tracy will enforce the pace. This ride is usually 19-20 mph so come out and enjoy the SOUTHERN VELO-ship.

Ride after Turkey Day on the last day of November but its going to be Ccccold again so I rolled it back to noon! It is supposed to be in the high 40s and sunny at the start so dress appropriately. I am on call so may not be able to make this one but I will have some co-hosts back me up if needed to lead the ride. The pace will be ll enforced regardless. This ride is expected to average ~20 mph so come out and enjoy the SOUTHERN VELO-ship. If you want to bring a guest that is fine too just make sure they are comfortable in group rides and can hold the average pace advertised. Our main goal is to ensure everyone stays together and if someone falls off the back, sweepers are encouraged to bring them back to the group.
